Many beautiful and important churches in Israel are worth visiting. With the churches in Israel scattered all over the country, it can be difficult to see them all. my list of the best-known churches in Israel will help you decide which church you must visit during your visit to Israel.

THE CHURCH OF THE HOLY SEPULCHER IN JERUSALEM 

The most well-known church in Israel and probably in the world, the Church of the Holy Sepulcher must be on your schedule during your visit to Israel. located in the heart of the Christian Quarter of the Old City of Jerusalem, the Church of the Holy Sepulcher is known for being where Jesus was crucified, died on the cross, and where he was ascended to heaven. Inside this magnificent church are 5 last stations of the Via Dolorosa, where there are regular ceremonies and services by different Christian divisions. The basilica is shared among 6 divisions of Christianity, making this an unequivocal must-see for anybody partnered with Christian confidence. CHURCH OF ALL NATIONS IN JERUSALEM

The Church of All Nations, is located at the bottom part of Mount of Olives in Jerusalem, according to tradition this is the place and the stone in the church on which Jesus prayed for the last time before he was arrested by the Romans and crucified.

The great basilica located in the  Garden of Gethsemane, with its many old olive trees(a few trees are more than 2000 years old!), gives a reminiscent spot to contemplation, particularly when visited around evening time.

The church is also called the Basilica of the Agony. constructed in 1924 by one of the greatest architects, Antonio Bellucci.

The Gospels of Matthew, Mark, and Luke tell that Jesus and his disciples went to the Mount of Olives after the Last Supper to pray.

He left eight of the disciples together in one spot and took Peter, James, and John. He asked them — the three who had seen his Transfiguration — to remain conscious and awake while he was praying on The Rock of Agony.

The main church was built over the ruins of the Byzantine church from the 4th century and the other churches such as the church from the times of the Crusaders. In the present structure which was set up in 1969 by Giovani Muzio, there are remains from the past places of worship. It is one of the greatest, most noteworthy houses of worship in the Middle East.

The amazing Basilica is 60 meters high and presents a huge collection of mosaics. The mosaics were made by Christian countries from everywhere throughout the world, and each bit of workmanship mirrors the national character of the nation that sent it.

ST. PETER'S CHURCH IN CAPERNAUM GALILEE

One of the churches on the Sea of Galilee is located in the northern region of Israel. The St. Peters church in Galilee additionally called the Capernaum church is a Catholic church found in the archeological site of Capernaum. TABCHA - CHURCH OF THE MULTIPLICATION OF THE LOAVES AND FISHES IN GALILEE

Another great church in Israel to visit, Tabcha is well known for being where Jesus duplicated a couple of portions of bread and two fish to take care of thousands of his supporters.
